Cieľom dizertačnej práce bolo vytvoriť model efektívneho využívania technológie Big Data pre podporu rozhodovania v podniku. Model má umožniť, z veľkého množstva dynamicky sa meniacich údajov, získať a selektovať dôležité informácie, pre potreby rozhodovania jednotlivých riadiacich pracovníkov. Práca pozostáva zo šiestich kapitol. Prvá kapitola obsahuje teoretické východiská problematiky rozhodovania manažérov podnikov, informačnej podpory manažmentu a riešenia pre spracovávanie a využívanie množstva rôznorodých údajov v procese rozhodovania, t.j. Big Data. Druhá kapitola obsahuje cieľ práce, postup realizácie a metódy práce. Tretia kapitola prezentuje realizovaný výskum dizertačnej práce, metodológiu výskumu, hypotézy, ich verifikáciu a interpretáciu výsledkov skúmania. Štvrtá kapitola uvádza návrh riešenia v podobe modelu integrovanej platformy Big Data pre podporu rozhodovania a jeho implementácie v podniku. Piata kapitola je zameraná na diskusiu k dizertačnej práci a k dosiahnutým výsledkom, v podobe zhodnotenia navrhovaného riešenia podnikmi z praxe. Súčasťou diskusie je tiež identifikácia vzniku možných problémov pri implementácii navrhovaného riešenia v podniku a návrh odporúčaní, pomocou ktorých je možné týmto problémom predísť. Milan Kubina, PhD. - Qualification level: Doctor of Philosophy („philosophiae doctor“, in short „PhD.“) in the field of 3.3.15 Management Žilina: Faculty of Management Science and Informatics, University of Žilina, 2017 – 245 p. The aim of the dissertation thesis was to create a model of effective usage of the Big Data solution to support decision-making in the company. The model allows to gain and select important information for decision-making from large amounts of dynamically changing data. The thesis consists of six chapters. The first chapter contains the theoretical basis of the issue of decision making by managers of companies, management information support and solutions for the processing and usage of quantities of diverse data in the decision-making process, i.e. Big Data. The second chapter contains the main aim of the thesis, implementation procedure, and methods used in the thesis. The third chapter presents realized research, research methodology, hypothesis and their verification, and interpretation of the results of the research. The fourth chapter provides a proposal solutions in the form of a model of integrated platform Big Data to support decision-making and its implementation in the company. The fifth chapter represents a discussion to the results achieved in the form of evaluation of the proposed solutions in practice. Part of the discussion is also the identification of potential problems in the implementation of the proposed solutions in the company and the draft of recommendations, which help to prevent these problems.
