Our faculty is glad to support the regional contest of the First Lego League. This contest will take part at the faculty on Friday, December 14th. We will welcome 14 teams (about 120 pupils from Žilina, Martin, Bratislava, Trenčín, Ružomberok, Liptovský Hrádok, Dubnica nad Váhom, Púchov, Trstená, Podolie a Domaniža).
From 30.11 till 02.12 took place in Praque the Central European Regional contest of ACM ICPC - CERC 2018. Our faculty sent two teams to take part at the contest. Totally, there participated 74 teams from seven countries (Czech Republic, Croatia, Hungary, Poland, Austria, Slovakia and Slovenia).
Our team was at 37th position in the final ranking. It is the 2nd position in frame of Slovak participants.

We would like to invite you to take part in the second Missing Maps mapathon in Žilina.
A mapathon is a great opportunity for volunteers to digitally connect and map the most vulnerable places in the developing world so that local and international Non-Governmental Organizations (NGO’s) can use these maps and data to better respond to crises affecting these areas. Up to date maps are important for the success of many humanitarian organizations around the world in responding to disasters. Through Missing Maps, you can volunteer your time to help create these maps, and have a real impact on the delivery of healthcare in the field.

From Monday October 9th, we start new series of events - ERASMUS cafe. From 11.00 AM, meeting of Slovak and foreign students (Erasmus incoming students) will take place. It will be possible to meet and discuss about study mobility, first experience in Slovakia... This will be our contribution to the internationalization of our faculty and university.
On Saturday September 29th, the faculty members - teachers, students and friends, met in the beautifull nature - "Sulovske vrchy" mountains. These mountains are near to Zilina. Hiking participants visited several natural monuments and spent a wonderfull day together.
On September 28th, our colleagues took part at European Researchers' Night 2018-2019 event. This event took place in Aupark shopping centre in Žilina. Our colleagues from Department of Technical Cybernetics prepared for public an excellente show from world of robotics and IT.
Our new academic year was opened by the Semester opening party. We would like to thank our students for participation, FRIklub for organizing this event and many thanks to our IT industry partners for a record number of company stands and different contents.
