From September 29, 2017 to October 10, 2017 Huawei's "Seeds for the Future" program took place. This program was attended by 18 students from IT study programs from Universities from Slovakia and the Czech Republic. Two students from the Faculty of Management Science and Informatics (FMSI) of the University of Žilina (UNIZA) participated in this program too. During the program, students visited Beijing, Shenzhen and Hong Kong. In each city a varied program was prepared for program participants. During the first week in Beijing, students learned about Chinese culture and language. They even participated in the Chinese language course. They also visited historical monuments such as the Great Wall, the Forbidden City and the Summer Palace. During the second week, students were in Shenzhen, one of the fastest growing cities in the world. Students were given the opportunity to visit the Huawei headquarters and take part in interesting lectures and laboratory exercises. The program was aimed at understanding the principles of mobile networks. At Huawei's laboratories, students had the option of configuring their own 4G and 3G mobile station. All participants received a program completion certificate. The Seeds for the Future program has its continuation in Europe. A European Vocational Skills Week event will took place in Brussels in November 2017. Four best students were nominated to participate there. Student Patricia Tadanajová, a student of FMSI, is among the nominated students. We cordially congratulate this success!
