The Faculty of Management Science and Informatics is opened for receiving students, teachers and researchers from countries that are not members of the European Union. We have long tradition of cooperation with countries as Belarus, Ukraine, Russian Federation, Serbia, ...
We would like to inform you about possible way how to apply and gain the scholarship for student, teacher or researcher mobility with duration of several months:
The first possibility is the National Scholarship Program
of the Slovak Republic - https://www.scholarships.sk/en/
Next deadline for applications is April 30th 2018.
Duration of a scholarship stay (university teachers,
researchers): 1 – 10 months.
the earliest date of the beginning of the stay is 1
September 2018; the latest date of the beginning of the stay is 31 August 2019
the latest date of the completion of the stay is 30
November 2019
The second possibility is the Visegrad Scholarship
Program
Master and post-Master scholars and researchers who are
citizens of Albania, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Bosnia and Herzegovina,
Georgia, Macedonia, Moldova, Montenegro Serbia and Ukraine can apply for a
scholarship to study in the Visegrad countries.

Faculty of Management Science and Informatics prepared an interesting possibility for all that were not able to take part at the Doors Open Day at February 16th 2018 (see video). Use a unique possibility and take part in our chat. Ask all, what you need to know about study at our facutly. Your questions will be answered by our dean, vice deans, teachers, successful graduates, students and of course, representatives of our IT industry partners. We are online March 7th 2018 from 16:00 to 21:00.

During the week from March 5th till 9th, our faculty will welcome more that 100 clever students of the secondary schools from whole Slovakia (Martin, Kysucké Nové Mesto, Nižná, Banská Bystrica, Námestovo, Piešťany, Košice, Trstená, Čadca, Tvrdošín, Handlová, Bratislava, Spišská Stará Ves, Žilina). They will take part in the IT camp "Fun way to learn IoT".

Academic council of the Faculty of Management Science and Informatics of the University of Žilina re-elected Mr. Emil Kršák for his second term in dean office. Second term duration begins at April 1st 2018 and ends at March 31st 2022. Re-elected dean will start his second term after appointment by the rector of university.

Complex reconstruction of laboratories RB301, RB302 and RB303 was successful finished. Modern laboratories with new interior soffits, paints, lighting and data and electric power infrastructure are available for students and teachers.

Vice dean for international cooperation visited the faculty partners in Western Balkan from February 12th till February 14th 2018. Meetings with colleagues in Niš, Priština and Skopje will help to strengthen cooperation with academic institutions and industry in this region.
Teacher of the Faculty of Electronics, the University of Niš will come to the Faculty of Management Science and Informatics, the University of Žilina, in frame of the teaching mobility Erasmus+ (KA107 - cooperation with partner countries).
In Priština, final workshop of the KosOptRail took place. In same day, the Letter of Intent for cooperation between the Faculty of Management Science and Informatics, the University of Žilina and the Tempulli College of Applied Sciences (Priština) was signed. It will enable cooperation in exchange of students, teachers and researchers.
During meeting at the Faculty of Computer Science & Engineering, the Ss. Cyril and Methodius University, ways for further cooperation in frame of the Erasmus+ program and European research programs were discussed.

Our faculty hosted the meeting of directors of primary and secondary schools in Zilina and Trencin regions. On February 15th, this event was organized, in frame of the national project "IT Academy". We were pleased by high number of participants. Main topic of this event was support of cooperation in IT oriented education and increasing of quality of teaching of Informatics oriented subjects in primary and secondary schools.

On Thursday February 15th, the opening ceremony of the Harvard University course CS50 "Introduction to Computer Science" took place. This course is organized by BrainBasket foundation in frame of Technology Nation Slovakia project. Our faculty offered own computer laboratory to support this idea. Mentor of this course will be faculty member - Dr. Jozef Kostolný. We wish all the best to all participants.

The National Scholarship Programme (NSP) of the Slovak Republic supports mobility of international students, PhD students, university teachers, researchers and artists for scholarship stays at higher education institutions and research organisations in Slovakia.
Citizens of any country in the world (except the citizens of Slovakia) can apply for a scholarship stay in Slovakia in the framework of the NSP.
Next deadline for applications - April 30th 2018
