Cooperation with Siemens AG

On January 24th 2017, Mr. Dr. Frank Gerken (CTO and Head of R&D at Siemens Mobility Management) and Mr. Ondrej Chrappa (Head of Mobility Management Center of Competence Siemens) visited the Faculty of Electrical Engineering (FEE) and the Faculty of Management Science and Informatics (FMSI) of the University of Žilina (UNIZA). Dr. Gerken, Mr. Chrappa and faculty representatives discussed about the actual situation and the results in Electrical Engineering and ICT oriented study programs that are accredited at UNIZA. The meeting of those representatives could be of essential influence for the future of students and graduates of both faculties. In next months, headquarters of Siemens AG will decide about a creation of new job positions in the field of innovative software solutions for the railway transport. It is very likely that they will be created in Zilina, since the Mobility Management Center of Competence Siemens for Rail Automation with more than 230 employees already exists there. In the first phase, a creation of about 50 new job positions is expected. In general, new R&D center will offer 200 job positions. It is expected that graduates of Applied Informatics and Intelligent Information Systems study programs will be able to seize them.
