Cybersecurity Management in Practice: How Can We Tell If We’re Doing Cybersecurity Right?
As part of the Information Management course, a guest lecture will be held on the topic “Cybersecurity Management in Practice: How Can We Tell If We’re Doing Cybersecurity Right?”, led by Juraj Pankuch and Pavol Kopačka. The lecture will take place on April 29, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. in room AF014.
The main topics will be:
- What is the primary goal of cybersecurity?
- How do we determine (calculate) the value of an asset?
- An incident is not a failure; failure is a lack of preparedness for an incident.

Ing. Juraj Pankuch graduated from the Faculty of Electronics at the Technical University of Košice, specializing in electronic computers. At the beginning of his professional career, he focused on the design of electronic computers and their programming. Later, he expanded his scope to include management and information systems, and recently he has been intensively focusing on the use of artificial intelligence in various practical fields. Today, he applies his extensive experience in management and supervisory positions in the ICT sector, with a special emphasis on cybersecurity. He currently works as a certified cybersecurity auditor and ISO 27001 auditor.
Ing. Pavol Kopačka studied Technical Cybernetics, specializing in robotics, at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology (FEI) at the Slovak University of Technology (STU) in Bratislava. During his various technical roles, he primarily focused on management and information systems, as well as artificial intelligence in the field of applied research. He applies his acquired experience in management and supervisory roles in the ICT sector, with a special focus on cybersecurity. He currently serves as a certified cybersecurity auditor and ISO 27001 auditor.
