Digitization of Sports Management and Funding: A Proposal for a Cloud-Based Solution for the Local and Regional Levels
The Faculty of Management and Informatics at the University of Žilina in Žilina carried out a research project titled “The Use of Cloud Technology for the Digitization of the Sports Management and Funding Support System at the Regional and Local Levels.”
The project addressed long-standing shortcomings in the sports funding system at the municipal and regional levels, including, in particular, low transparency in the allocation of funds, inconsistent information sources, administratively burdensome processes, and limited use of data in decision-making.
The project’s objective was to analyze the current state of affairs and propose a concept for a modern information system based on cloud computing technology, which would enable centralized data management, more efficient process management, information sharing among stakeholders, and data-driven decision-making. The proposed solution also aimed to increase transparency, improve the allocation of public resources, and support smaller sports organizations and communities.
More information about the project can be found on the Department of Management Theories website.
