Dear friends of humanitarian mapping,
Come and support the work of Doctors Without Borders by helping to map areas threatened by humanitarian crises.
We will be mapping on November 20th from 18:00 to 20:30 in the Information Centre (RA003).
Together, we will be mapping the Ouaddaï province in Chad, where Doctors Without Borders teams are assisting local communities and Sudanese refugees.
Anyone can take part. No previous mapping experience is required. We will teach beginners everything they need to know. You only need to bring your own laptop and a mouse. If necessary, we can provide a laptop for you.
The capacity of the Information Centre is limited, so you must fill in the registration form.
Refreshments will also be provided (mineral water, Kofola, pizza).
The Žilina Parallel Mapathon is being held as part of a series of events celebrating the 35th anniversary of the founding of the Faculty of Management Science and Informatics UNIZA. Parallel mapathons will also be taking place in Brno, Uherské Hradiště, and Prague. We have a chance to set a new record for the number of buildings mapped during a single event!
We hope to fill the Information Centre and work together for a good cause.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact our student and event coordinator, Patrik Samuel Ondreička, on MS Teams.
The registration deadline is Tuesday, 18th November, at 23:00.
