From 16 to 18 September 2026, the 37th edition of the prestigious international scientific conference CECIIS (Central European Conference on Information and Intelligent Systems) took place at the Faculty of Organization and Informatics (FOI), University of Zagreb, in historic Varaždin. This year’s conference focused on the central theme "The Next Wave of Intelligent Systems", highlighting the key role of artificial intelligence and digital technologies as cognitive partners to humans.

The conference also provided a platform for the next generation of researchers and computer scientists. Seven students of master's degree from our faculty participated in the international student section, where they presented three research posters. The posters showcased specific outcomes and solutions developed as part of challenge-based education in the courses Project 1 and Project 2. Participation in this international forum was an excellent opportunity for the students to test their results to an international audience and gain valuable experience in academic presentation and discussion.
