Presentation of the First University Textbook on Sports Management in Slovakia
At the international conference "Sports Management in Central & Eastern European Countries," the publication *Sports Management* was presented; it is the very first university textbook of its kind in Slovakia.

The authors are Assoc. Prof. Michal Varmus, PhD., Prof. Milan Kubina, PhD., Roman Adámik, PhD., and Michal Šarlák. The book was officially launched by Vassil Girginov, a professor of sports management at Brunel University London, and Miloslav Mečíř, an Olympic champion and president of the Slovak Tennis Association, who symbolically sprinkled it with grass and clay.

The publication’s content extends beyond the academic sphere and addresses practical needs. It is intended not only for students but also for active and future sports managers, coaches, and officials. It will also be useful for representatives of the public and nonprofit sectors, employees of sports federations, municipal sports organizations, and club staff. At the same time, it can be beneficial for sponsors, the media, journalists, and everyone involved in the management and development of sports. The publication offers a clear and practical perspective on the functioning of sports organizations in today’s environment.

The textbook builds on previous publications by the Department of Management Theories: Management of Sports Organizations: Key Stakeholders and Management of Sports Organizations 2: Strategic Management, as well as Strategic Sport Management: Sustainability of Sports Clubs.
