On October 6, 2025, in Warsaw, 39 national teams from around the world competed at the largest cyber competition, the European CyberSecurity Challenge 2025. The Slovak Cyber Team achieved a fantastic result, finishing in an excellent 4th place.
On October 21, 2025, a meeting was held between the Dean, prof. Ing. Emil Kršák, PhD., and the guarantor of the study programs "Information and Network Technologies" and "Applied Network Engineering," prof. Ing. Pavol Segeč, PhD., with students from the bachelor's study program "Information and Network Technologies," Dušan Kolenčík and Kristína Šubjaková, who are members of the successful Slovak Cyber Team.
During a rich discussion, the students shared their experiences from the competition, as well as the activities they undertake to develop and improve their IT skills in the field of cybersecurity. The Dean, along with the guarantor, cordially congratulated the students on their achievement, thanked them for their excellent representation of the faculty and the University of Žilina in Žilina, and wished them much further success.
