Successful completion of a workshop for high school students as part of an engineering project
In early May, the Faculty of Management and Informatics at UNIZA welcomed students from the Jozef Murgaš Secondary Industrial School in Banská Bystrica for a two-day workshop as part of the engineering project “Ecosystem for Developing Mobile Applications with Reusable Components.”
This is an exceptional engineering project carried out in collaboration with our partner company Brain:IT, which connects secondary school, university, and corporate practice.
During the program, the high school students were introduced to the current status of the project, the faculty facilities, dormitories, student life in Žilina, and the premises of the partner company Brain:IT. The students also tried their hand at several practical activities in the fields of UX, testing, robotics, and virtual reality. There was also a group barbecue and an informal space for discussion.
The assignment from the previous semester was also evaluated. The three best wireframe designs for the Letspresso app for tablets were awarded valuable prizes. We warmly congratulate the winning high school students.
The workshop was aimed at fostering collaboration between SPŠ J. Murgaša BB, FRI UNIZA, and Brain:IT, as well as demonstrating what working on a real IT project can look like.
Thank you to everyone who participated and helped create a great atmosphere.
