University of Žilina is in beginning of 64th academic year. Winter semester starts on Monday September 26th.

Faculty of Management Science and Informatics opened courses for 1516 students in bachelor and master degree study programs. 1101 students attended to bachelor study programs. 415 students will continue their study in master study programs. Approximately one half of all students will study Informatics bachelor study program - 791 students, in all three years of study.

Faculty welcomed eight foreign students. Three of them take part in Erasmus+ exchange program for students - from Spain (University of Oviedo), Croatia (University of Zagreb) and Poland (Lomza University). One from France, in frame of Erasmus+ Traineeship. Three students came in frame of iBrasil. They are from three diferent Brasil universities. These students are studying in Žilina in frame of their PhD study.

One student started bachelor degree study of Informatics. He is from Netherland.

Faculty sent 22 students for their Erasmus+ student mobility. 20 of them will study in one of 5 countries. 9 students applied for study in Finland, 5 of them in Jyväskylä city.

Researchers´ Night event was organized in Žilina again, in Aupark Shopping Center in Zilina on Friday September 30th, from 09:00 am till 09:00 pm.

Our faculty was represented by colleagues of the Department of Technical Cybernetics with the title "The robots and virtual reality".

Mr. Emil Krsak, dean of faculty, would like to invite you to have a day free of studying. It is tradition at our faculty, that we meet in faculty hiking event.

Date of event - October 8th, Saturday.

In this semester, we would like to invite you to Malá Fatra natural park. Map of the hiking event - here.

We will start from Štefanová (633 meters above sea level), following the green tourist marking, until Medziholie mountain pass (1185 m). From Medziholie, we will continue following blue tourist marking to goal of hiking event - Osnica peak (1363 m). From Osnica peak we will continue following blue and later yellow tourist marking to Lučivná (500 m).

Transport - by public bus, bus departure at 08:00 AM, from main bus station (near railway station)
